Since this strategy is more of an activity than a lesson idea, here are 3 sample Do Now activities to begin a class.

To preview a lesson on factoring polynomials:

1)      List all of the factors of 24.

2)      Find the square root of x
², x^4, and x^6.

3)      Find the square root of 1, 25, and 121.



To review for a lesson on factoring polynomials:

1)      What are the factors? x(x-7)(x+3)

2)      What are the factors? (x
²)-1

3)      What are the factors? (x
²)-5x+6


To review for a lesson on the quadratic formula:

1)      What are the factors? a=2, b=4, c=3

2)      Identify the a, b, and c in the following equation: (x
²)-11x+3

3)      What are the factors? (x
²)-11x+3
